Barbara "Babs" Pewterschmidt (née Hebrewberg) is a recurring character in the adult animated television series Family Guy. She is the mother of Lois Pewterschmidt, mother-in-law of Peter and the maternal grandmother of Meg, Chris, and Stewie Griffin. Like her husband, she shares his dislike for their son-in-law, but she is slightly more tolerant of him. She is a survivor of the Holocaust meaning she is of Jewish origin. She is seen at the trial with her husband.
